Celebrating a Decade With Our Team
As the Great Resignation made abundantly clear, employees don’t stay with employers who don’t treat them right. Today’s workforce will leave if they feel they aren’t paid enough, don’t have enough flexibility, aren’t respected in the workplace, or don’t have opportunities for advancement.
Our team at Strategic Capital strives to ensure those issues aren’t the new workplace normal, and we have the employee longevity to prove it.
Breaking with the status quo
While the pandemic accelerated employee separation from their companies in a lot of industries, even as things level off, workers are still choosing to forge their own paths. Ultimately, companies across the country are still seeing turnover rates well above what’s historically been normal. In fact, in March 2022, the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that quit rates were at an all-time high.
Today, it’s extremely rare to find someone who’s been with the same company for a decade or longer, and even rarer to find a team largely comprised of employees with that length of tenure.
Fortunately for us here at Strategic Capital, we’re seeing quite the opposite. We’re excited to celebrate the long careers of many of our team members right here at our company.
Making it to milestones
The BLS says that today’s employee stays with their employer for an average of just over four years, a number that’s been steadily inching downward over the last decade. But here at Strategic Capital, we’re happy to report that we more than double that number on a regular basis.
In fact, nearly 90% of our employees have celebrated their ten-year anniversary with us — and some have more than doubled that.
“This speaks volumes about the team that we have created here at Strategic Capital and about the respect and support we offer each other,” says Shawn Richmor, Chief Operating Officer. “This level of care and commitment permeates every aspect of our business, including how we interact with customers.”
With our commitment to creating a positive workplace environment where our team members can grow and thrive, we keep our talented staff with our company. This means they deepen their industry knowledge and specific skillsets year after year, helping us deliver ever-improving service to our customers.
What’s worked for us
A lot of employers have concerns that mitigating employee turnover means implementing flashy (read: expensive) employee perks. Actually, though, we’ve seen that people generally care about respect from their managers and opportunities to grow more than, say, a nitro cold brew coffee bar.
As Richmor explains, “We aren’t a high staff turnover organization, looking for the next quick fix. We are diligent and rigorous in our approach to making our customers happy and to ensuring that they benefit from our loyal and dedicated team of experts. I am honored to be a part of this as I begin my 20th year at Strategic.”
